Project Vengadas will be running two workshop series, one for graduate students and one which is community-based.
The workshops will focus on fragments from three texts: Fuenteovejuna, El médico de su honra, and La fuerza de la sangre.
Graduate Student Workshops
Community Workshops
This series of workshops, designed for graduate students, explores and examines moments of violence and trauma in theatre. Focusing on fragments of canonical Spanish texts in translation, these workshops offer a brief historical overview and explanation of the genre followed by an in-depth exploration of particular moments, languages, and actions. Over the course of the workshops, led by Victoria Rasbridge and Paula Rodriguez, in conjunction with Intimacy on Set, students will learn how to approach and interrogate these difficult stories and seek creative, innovative, and productive ways of performing them across various media (music, theatre, art).
This series of community outreach workshops designed for women focuses on female characters from canonical Spanish texts and the narratives of trauma and violence contained within. Led by trained psychologist, Luisa Boada, together with Victoria Rasbridge and Paula Rodriguez, and in conjunction with charitable organisations supporting women fleeing gender based abuse, these workshops equip participants with new innovative tools for self-expression and explore the use of creativity and art in emotional and psychological healing.
